Nilin Cartier-Wells is the estranged daughter of Scylla and Charles Cartier-Wells, the corporate leaders of Memorize. She belongs to the Autonomist Alliance collective of underground anarchist activists known as the Errorists, a radical movement against the use of Ego Indenture and the Planetary Consortium government approved use of involuntary psychosurgery by PC hypercorps such as Memorize in the inner system. Led by their shadowy leader, Edge, Errorists campaign against Memorize using social media platforms and attacking targets through their Mesh implants. She was imprisoned for Terrorist activities and herself subjected to Planetary Consortium Re-Education at the hands of her parent’s company, Memorize in a Triple-Maximum Security Prison Facility in Low Earth orbit known as the New Bastille.

Nilin is rather sarcastic, known to make comments, puns, and jokes throughout inappropriate situations. She is also rebellious and tends to talk back, most often to Edge when communicating during missions, displaying her cautiousness in trusting him. As she came up through the ranks of the Errorists, she developed guilt complex concerning her socio-political misdeeds and her murder of Frank Forlan. While unable to interact with her parents, she enjoys a close relationship of communication with her grandparents Antoine Cartier-Wells (grandfather)and Claudine Cartier-Wells (grandmother) with whom she spent much of her childhood while her parents, focused on their careers and building their hypercorp were too engaged in Transitional Economy capitalism to find time for parenting. her grandfather, a lifelong Mixed Martial Arts fan descended from generations of Parkour champions pushed little Nilin into training and competition. Seeking approval and love from SOMEONE (anyone), little Nilin worked desperately to please her grandfather and became a talented and resourceful technical fighting athlete.
