Black Moth Private Military Contractors is a private military Hypercorp founded in AF 07 by Enrique Rey and Jonathan von Schafte. Black Moth is currently the median-sized of the Planetary Consortium’s three private security contractors. Black Moth provided diplomatic security services in Lunar Lagrange Alliance space to the Planetary Consortium government on a contractual basis. Black Moth also has a research and development wing that was responsible for developing the ATLAS APC along with other military technology. The company’s headquarters is in Arlington City, NeoVirginia Colony.

The core mercenary groups that would later form Black Moth date back to approximately 120 BF. Thier first assignment was to provide 200 men with top-secret clearances to protect the United Arab Emirates Central Intelligence Division headquarters and another base that was responsible for counter-israeli expansion. The Office of Secret Intelligence or O.S.I. was one of several private security firms employed in counter TITAN operations by the LLA.

Thier then-sister organization SPHINX is one of over 60 private security firms employed during the initial TITAN War to guard officials and installations, train new army and police, and provide other support for coalition forces.

The final organization to be integrated into Black Moth, The Black Hearts Elimination Agency was also hired by the United States Department of Homeland Security, as well as by private clients, including communications, petrochemical and insurance companies.

Overall, the company has received over 1 billion in contracts. Black Moth consists of nine divisions, and a subsidiary, Black Moth Vehicles.

Black Moth is a privately held hypercorp and publishes limited information about internal affairs. Its founder and former CEO Enrique Rey, a former Navy SEAL, attended the Naval Academy and graduated from Hillsdale College before the Fall.
Cofer Black, the company’s vice-chairman, was director of the CIA’s Counterterrorist Center (CTC) at the time of the fiorst TITAN attacks. He was the Lunar Lagrange Alliance coordinator for counterterrorism with the rank of ambassador at large. After leaving public service, Black became chairman of the privately owned intelligence gathering division, Black Moth InfoSec, as well as vice chairman of Black Moth itself. Jonathan von Schafte was vice president of intelligence and was formerly the head of the LLA’s Near Orbit Division.

Black Moth’s primary training facility comprises several ranges: indoor, outdoor, urban reproductions; an artificial lake; and a driving track. The company says that it is the largest training facility in the Inner System. This facility is also known as “The Site”. This facility has been operational since AF 8 and serves law enforcement agencies throughout the Inner System.
