Open Space Traffic

Open Space Traffic in the Inner System
SpaceNav regulations require all vessels in open space to travel close to the orbital plane of their destination. (e.g. vessels destined for Mars must travel approximately within Mars’ orbital plane.) Outbound vessels travel below the destination’s orbital plane while inbound vessels travel above the destination’s orbital plane. Automated beacons are located along different orbits within the orbital plane of each planet to act as navigational reference points.
